UistWool Tweed Scarf

UistWool Tweed Scarf

£149,00Price

Uist Wool are a small mill on the tiny Island of Grimsay. They are a not-for-profit community led organization whose dream was to bring wool processing back to the island to enable the local fleeces to be spun and utilised. They aim to source as much of the wool as possible from the island or no further afield than mainland Scotland. The yarn is undyed to showcase the natural colours of the different fleeces. The processing is all carried out on site on heritage machinery dating back to as early as the 19th century, lovingly restored and maintained daily.

For my UistWool Tweed, Hebridean, Cheviot, Zwarble and Texel fleeces were blended and combined to produce variegated and flecked yarns which we then combined further to produce two distinct Tweeds; a dark version and a light version.

This scarf has a dyed weft in lavender and pale pink for a subtle pastel tone over the natural warp
